Dave Kelso

Dave Kelso is the winner of the 2004 Championship Woodie Flowers Award.  This was the first year that WFFA winners were celebrated in FIRST, and Dave was the first Championship winner to be recognized under this new format of judging in 2004.

Dave Kelso has been the lead teacher of FIRST Robotics Competition team 131 since 1994.  He has inspired many students and maintained a wonderful program at Manchester Central High School as a team leader, science teacher, father figure, and friend.

Dave and his wife, Nancy work as a team, , consistently leading team CHAOS in a well-organized manner.  Dave and Nancy are also parents of a WFFA winner, Kristen Kelso.

You can find Dave at many FIRST events.  He often is seen volunteering at FIRST headquarters, demonstrating robots and assisting in camps.  Also, Dave has led many FLL tournaments, and directed students on team 131 to reach out and make an impact on younger students by mentoring many FLL teams.

Dave also is a lead organizer of the River Rage off-season event held in Manchester.  He is a fixture in FIRST and we are a better community because of Dave’s efforts.
